Logansport Jr. High Cheerleaders Visit Disney World

The Logansport Jr. High Cheerleaders recently performed at the 2016 Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl during the Pre-Game ceremonies in Orlando, Florida. Before their performance, they were treated with a trip to Walt Disney World.

Stanley Students Present Successful Musical Christmas Program

The Stanley High School Christmas Program was a huge success! Students in grades K-4, lead by music teacher Andria Shoemake, sang the songs of the season, while 5th graders played a Christmas arrangement on their recorder flutes. PreK students, lead by teacher Tori LaFleur, also showed their singing and dancing talents in the program.

DeSoto Parish Volunteer Grandparents Celebrate Christmas

This giving group of citizens represent the DeSoto Parish Foster Grandparents, which is a volunteer program. Foster Grandparents read to the children, assist teachers with classwork, bond with the children and are viewed as surrogate grandparents to many of the children.

Books and Biscuits Book Club Hold Festive December Meeting

Books and Biscuits Book Club met at the Cook-Hill Bed and Breakfast in Grand Cane on December 1, 2015. Everyone was in the “spirit” with all their colorful Christmas sweaters and socks; yes, several of the members were decked out in great seasonal stockings. The Cook-Hill House was showing its Christmas spirit, too, as volunteers had done a very nice job of decorating it for our luncheon.
