BackAlley Theatre to Present Famous Murder Mystery Play Beginning this Week

Article Image Alt Text

By: Barbie Larson

“The Mousetrap” is a murder mystery play by Agatha Christie. “The Mousetrap” opened in the West End of London in 1952, and has been running continuously since then. It has by far the longest initial run of any play in history. It is known for its twist ending, which the audience is traditionally asked not to reveal after leaving the theatre. Strangers are stranded in a boarding house during a snowstorm, one of whom is a murderer. The suspects include the newlyweds who run the house, a spinster with a curious background, an architect who seems better equipped to be a chef, a retired Army major, a strange little man who claims his car has overturned in the snowdrift, and a jurist who makes life miserable for everyone. Two of these crazy characters are played by Michael Millard and Jay Fewless.
