DPSO Sgt. Angela Bandy Speaks to Mansfield Lions

The Mansfield Lions Club had as their special guest speaker, Sgt. Angela Bandy from the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office. Angela is from the Criminal Investigation Division working mainly with child abuse, sexual abuse, and elderly abuse cases as well as sex crimes involving children and pornographic cases. Angela wanted everyone to know there are many resources available to anyone a victim of any of these abuses and crimes with the main thing to contact her or let someone know what has happened.

Logansport Friends of the Library to Hold Annual 90 Plus Party

President Pat Arbuckle asked that anyone that will be reaching that milestone make plans to attend the party on October 14, at 10:00 AM at the Logansport Library Conference Room.

Author Celeste McHale Speaks at September Books & Biscuits Club

The Books & Biscuits Book Club held its regular monthly meeting at the Cook-Hill House B&B in Grand Cane recently and welcomed the author of the September book selection , “The Secret to Hummingbird Cake”, Celeste Fletcher McHale. The large crowd of book lovers were entertained and informed by the energetic and plainspoken McHale, as she shared how she came to write a heartwrenching, yet uplifting book about the death from Cancer of a one of a threesome of childhood friends that would last into adulthood.
