BackAlley Community Theatre is proud to present its upcoming winter production, The Outsider. Ned Newley doesn’t want to be governor, his chief of staff believes Ned is destined to fail, but his political consultant believes Ned can be groomed into a successful candidate. This comedy is a thoroughly nonpartisan comedy that challenges us to consider how otherwise responsible individuals, politicians, and journalists work to govern, and what government and politics have to do with real life. According to The Outsider, we know that our belief in this man-made system—-when it works—can be beautiful, and a source of hope.
Our cast members include two new actors to our BackAlley stage, Lauren Schexnayder and Heath Lemme; John Franklin who is moving from a director role to an acting role; and actors familiar to our BAT patrons— John Neilson, Kim Pepmiller, Barry Larson, and Lisa Duty. The Outsider is directed by Shellye Abington, and the Stage Manager is Jann Franklin.
