After a three-point play by Jasmine Anderson to open the fourth quarter in the neutral site game at Southwood, Green Oaks had pulled within 37-35 and appeared it might have the Lady Wolverines on the ropes
Friday 2-14-14 capped off a very special season with a 71-62 win over Converse on Senior night. The Lady Panthers improved to 38-0 and are district 3B Champs, earning them a trip to the playoffs. The first round of playoffs will begin Thursday, February 20 at 6:00 PM in Stanley against Centerville, which is located near Morgan City in St. Mary Parish. Coach Cleve Craig stated that he would like to invite everyone in DeSoto Parish out to support the Lady Panthers

DeSoto Parish District Attorney, Richard Z. Johnson, Jr., harvested his first deer EVER while hunting with Assistant District Attorney, Mike Daniel, on December 18, 2013. The 8- point buck was brought down with .270 Winchester rifle, while hunting on the DeSoto-Caddo Parish line.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes had a special speaker at Mansfield Middle School on January 14. The students heard Elois Grooms, a former American football defensive lineman in the National Football League for the
New Orleans Saints, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Philadelphia Eagles.
