Maxine Creech Valentine

Funeral Services were held at Rosewood Funeral Home in Victoria, Texas on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 2:00 PM for Maxine Creech Valentine, age 85, who passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Brookdale Senior Living in Victoria Texas. Visitation for family and friends began at 1:00 PM. Services were performed by Pastor Larry Green, Chaplain for Hospice of South Texas. Internment was at O.E. Price Cemetery on Noon, Wednesday, February 17, 2016 in Logansport, Louisiana, and were presided over by Pastor Timothy Roberson of First Baptist Church of Logansport. Maxine was born in Logansport, Louisiana on December 15, 1930. She was the 7th and youngest child of Rube Creech and Bernice Barfield Creech. Maxine grew up in Logansport and graduated from Logansport High School. This is where she met her High School sweetheart and future husband Aubrey Valentine. They were married on July 3rd, 1952 at the First Baptist Church of Logansport. Maxine is a graduate of Stephen F.

Loyce Neel Fulmer

Services for Loyce Neel Fulmer, 89, were held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at First United Methodist Church in Logansport, LA. Burial followed at O.E. Price Cemetery in Logansport, LA. The family received friends on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 1:00 PM till time of service.  Loyce was born on August 5, 1926 in Joaquin, TX to Horace and Nora Bowlin Neel and passed away on February 1, 2016 in Jackson, MS. Loyce loved cooking, sewing, fishing, and spending time with her family. Preceding Loyce in death is her husband Gene Fulmer; parents Horace and Nora Neel; son, Tommy Fulmer; granddaughter Karen Fulmer; two brothers; and two sisters. Those left behind to cherish her memory is her daughters, Jane Gibson and husband Benton of McComb, MS, Judy Spangler and husband Geoff of Baton Rouge, LA, Joann Magee and husband Joe of Keatchie, LA; nine grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Janet Marie Cicchiani

Our beloved sister, Janet Marie Cicchiani passed away in Cincinnati, OH on January 30, 2016 after a brief illness. Janet was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on September 1, 1955 to Melio S. Cicchiani and Lawana Jane (Christian) Cicchiani. Janet worked for Cintas Corporation for 20 years. She was a faithful and hardworking partner. She loved horses and being a mixologist and spending her weekends going to the flea market. Those who went on before her were her mother Lawanda Jane Christian and her brother J. H. Cicchiani, she will be greatly missed by her father, Melio S. Cicchiani, her sisters, Wanda Cordova and husband Jimmy and Zina Cicchiani, her brother Billy Cicchiani and wife Carol. Her niece and nephews, Chase Cordova, Lacey Cordova, Ryan Cicchiani, and Ashley Cicchiani and her great nephew Ethan Cordova. We were grateful for her close friends in her time of need and her pets will greatly miss her, Sassy and Sasha.

Pauline Bolden Moore

Pauline Bolden Moore was born in Mansfield, Louisiana, on February 10, 1933 to late Edgar Washington and Ollie Jones. After the passing of her mother, she was raised by her grandmother, Ms. Pauline Jones, who she referred to as “Mama”. She was a loving caring mother. Pauline received her formal education in Mansfield, Louisiana form the DeSoto Parish Training School. She relocated to Houston, Texas and began working at Kozy Kitchen Bar-B-Que where when met the love of her life, Leroy Moore. Pauline accepted Leroy’s marriage proposal and they were united in marriage on June 10, 1956, and remained married for forty-three (43) years, until his untimely death in 1999. Her parents, Edgar and Ollie; along with her grandmother, Pauline; her sisters, Doris and Jeanette; and her brother Edgar Jr., all preceded her in death.

Dwight M. Hill

Dwight M. Hill, 89, of Logansport, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at First United Methodist Church of Logansport. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 28, 2016 at First United Methodist Church of Logansport where Rev. Gloria Youngblood and Rev. Dean Register officiated. Interment followed at O.E. Price Cemetery in Logansport, Louisiana. Mr. Hill was born March 15, 1926 in Logan County, Arkansas to George Allen Hill and Lena Corley Hill. He was a sales representative in the poultry industry. Mr. Hill served in the United States Army as a Medic from October 1944 to November 1946. He was a member of the Joaquin Masonic Lodge, American Legion, Shriners Temple and an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Logansport.

Funeral services honoring the life of Jack Carlton Middleton, 80, were at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral in Mansfield, LA where Reverend Vernon Stephenson, Reverend Benny Alford and Revered Alton Middleton officiated. Burial followed at Ajax Community Cemetery in Ajax, LA. The family received friends at Rose- Neath Funeral Home on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM. Jack was born in Mansfield, LA to Guy and Lizzie Buckliew Middleton and passed away on January 8, 2016. Preceding Jack in death were his parents Guy and Lizzie Buckliew Middleton and daughter, Jacqueline Joy Middleton.

Charles Perry Strong “Termite”

Charles Perry Strong “Termite” passed away on January 2, 2016 at 10:55 p.m. from cardiac arrest. He was 64 years old. Termite was born on January 13, 1951 to Dr. W.J. and Margaret Strong in Davenport, Iowa. He was the only boy in a family of three sisters, but he sure loved those sisters. His oldest sister, Linda, was the one who nicknamed him Termite because he was so destructive. The name seemed to fit as he grew into adulthood with the destruction of many cars and trucks. The name stuck with him all through life. Termite graduated from Mansfield High School in 1969, and made many life-long friends there. After graduation he stayed in Mansfield, and married Lana Winkler in 1973. They had one child, Kelly, who was the light of his life. Termite is survived by his daughter Kelly Strong of Mansfield; grandchildren T.J.

Zelda “Pinky” Louine Hannigan

Zelda Louine Hannigan, 86, passed away December 28, 2015. Services celebrating her life were held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at San Patricio Baptist Church in Converse, LA. Officiated by Chaplin Vern Stephenson, Rev. Buddy Hankins, and Rev. Dennis Sims. Burial followed in Castle Cemetery in Converse, LA. Zelda was born on February 6, 1929 in Hugh Springs, Texas. She lived her life with a true servant’s heart and never met a stranger. She along with her husband served in prison ministry for over 40 years. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, quilting, crafting of all kinds, and spoiling all of her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Nancy Elizabeth Arnold and Dennis Harrison Maulden; brother, Robert Maulden; sister, Edna Earl Maulden Huggins and her husband Gore; and sisters-in-law, Marilyn Maulden and Bea Andress Maulden. Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 67 years, Rev.
