Stonewall resident Ken Kaffka has announced his intent to run as board member for DeSoto Parish Police Jury- District 2’s seat, which is currently held by A. W. McDonald. McDonald, who has served his constituents for several years, has decided not to seek reelection. Originally from Shreveport, Kaffka and his wife (Shirley) of 42 years, moved to Stonewall in 1990, making him a resident of the district that he would represent for over 25 years. He and his wife have been a part of the community by serving as volunteer firemen for Fire District 3 since moving to Stonewall. Kaffka has also been a board member of Fire District 3 for 5 years. He and his wife attend church services at Keithville Baptist Church and St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Kaffka jokingly states that he is a “Baplic”, since he was raised in the Catholic faith, but sometimes attends the Baptist church with his wife.
