On Saturday, February 16, riders will ride through Logansport for the 64th Annual Old Spanish Trail Ride, with participants departing for a 216-mile trip to Houston, as they travel down Texas Hwy 59. The trip is scheduled to last seven days, with the “all the way” riders arriving in time to participate in the Houston Fat Stock Show (HFSS) Parade, which also hosts rodeo events, concerts and auctions. The ride is held in conjunction with the HFSS to help with its promotion. The riders are due to arrive in Houston on February 23, after a week long journey. Seven stops along the way include Timpson, Nacogdoches, Diboll, Livingston, Cleveland and Humble, before reaching the final destination of the Houston Fat Stock Show.

Riders have only been able not to begin their lengthy trip from Logansport a few times, and that was due to construction. They are excited to be able to pass through Logansport, Haslam and Joaquin as they relive history traveling the Old Spanish Trail.
