Bonnie was born November 13, 1953 in Converse to Ethel R. and William J.B. Smith. Her long battle with heart and kidney disease came to a peaceful end on January 10, 2018. As she requested, her body has been donated to science. A “celebration of life” will be held at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Shane and Bryant Calhoun, on Saturday, February 3, 2018, form 2 until 4. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that contributions be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church cemetery fund, 369 Nash Road, Logansport.

Gracie was born on Thursday, June 19, 1952 in Houston, Texas to Ralph & Millie Colson. She attended North Shore High School, where she was a proud member of the Scarlets Drill Team. Following high school, she attended nursing school, married the love of her life, and started a family. Being a wife, mom, mamma, and nurse were her greatest accomplishments in her own eyes. She deeply loved her God, her family, her pets, her friends, and each patient she ever cared for. Gracie was a breast cancer survivor, and became actively involved in the Relay for Life in Claiborne Parish. In November, 2015 she began a battle with stage 4 cancer. She endured surgeries, multiple procedures, treatments, and was in & out of remission before going to heaven on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. Living her life to the fullest until the end, though her body was worn she never lost her fighting spirit. Her faith in God was never stronger than when she was ill.

LOGANSPORT, LA--Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Joyce A. Ford, 93, was held at 1:00pm Monday, January 15, 2018 at Rose-Neath Chapel in Mansfield, LA with Reverend Michael Davis, Reverend Gordon Simmons, Reverend Jeff Huttegger, Reverend Jared Davis, and Reverend Barry Rhodes officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Heights Cemetery in Mansfield, LA. The family received friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 5pm till 8pm. Mr. Ford was born on August 22, 1924 to Robert and Arizona Ford and entered into rest on January 9, 2018.

SARDIS COMMUNITY, LA-- Funeral services honoring the life of John Tatum, 86, were held December 23, 2017 at Beulah Baptist Church in Mansfield, LA with Reverend David Permenter officiating. Burial will follow at Sardis Cemetery in Converse, LA. John was born on April 3, 1931 to C.W. and Sally Tatum and entered into rest on December 21, 2017. He was hard-working and faithful to his wife, children, great-grandchildren, family, and friends. John was born and raised in the Sardis Community. Honest hard-work and determination were part of his large family of 3 boys and 5 girls. These traits were the very core of the man John Tatum became. Upon finishing high school, John served in the Air Force for 8 years as an aircraft mechanic. Once he served his country, John moved his family back to the Sardis Community to own and operate dairy farm for several years.

Carolyn Moran Beaubouef Funeral services for Carolyn Beaubouef, 88, were held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 10:00 am with Rev. David Daniel officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Frierson, Louisiana. Visitation was held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 6pm till 8 pm. Carolyn Eloise Moran Beaubouef was born November 17, 1929 and passed into glory on January 1, 2018. Carolyn was raised in Kingston, Louisiana, after her family moved back home from Illinois in 1939. Carolyn attended Stonewall High School and LSU, majoring in costume design, at the strong urging of her parents. Missing her precious cattle back home in Kingston and knowing her God given gifts with animals, she persuaded her parents to allow her to change her major to Animal Industry. She was the only female in the program at LSU at the time.

Curtis Shaw, Jr. passed away on the 30th day of December 2017 at the age of 66. Services were held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana on January 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM, with visitation January 2, 2018 from 5 to 8 PM in the chapel. Rev. Jerry England of Jonestown Baptist Church in Jonestown, Texas officiated. Burial followed at the Mansfield Cemetery in Mansfield, La. Mr. Shaw was born September 13, 1951 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Curtis Shaw Sr. & Carmen “Susie” Shaw. Mr. Shaw was preceded in death by his mother Carmen “Susie” Shaw, He is survived by his father Curtis Shaw Sr., His former wife of 31 years Frances Shaw Lowe of Mansfield, son, Jesse Shaw of Grand Cane, La, daughter Monica Shaw Holloway and husband Timothy of Mansfield, La. Seven Grandchildren Shaina, Levi, Brooke, & Gabriel Holloway & Kaylyn, Eli & Saya Shaw of Grand Cane, La. Some called him Curtis, some called him Tinker, and we just called him daddy.

A visitation for Tommy Brown, M.D., 61, of Scottsville, Texas, was held Wednesday, January 3, 2018, from 4-8 pm at Osborn Funeral Home at 3631 Southern Avenue in Shreveport, Louisiana. Funeral services and a celebration of life were held at 10 am Thursday, January 4, 2018 at First Methodist Church, Head of Texas Street, Shreveport, Louisiana. Dr. Pat Day officiated with assistance by Rev. Richard “Mike” Stowell and Rev. Jimmy Price. Dr. Brown was born February 14, 1956, and peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 29, 2017, with his dear family at his side, after a brief but valiant battle with heart disease. He was preceded in death by his parents, Talmadge “Tad” and Marjorie “Pug” Brown and his oldest sister, Edna Dell Duggan.

Burial followed at Zwolle Cemetery in Zwolle, LA. The family received friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 5 pm till 8pm. Annette was born on December 22, 1964 to Jack and Ann Parker and entered into rest on January 4, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband John Charles Arrington of Keatchie, LA; her brothers, James Parker and wife Brenda of Pleasant Hill, LA, Chris Parker and wife Renea of Stonewall, LA; sisters-in-law, Patty Samples and husband Perry of Troup, TX, Billie Jefcoat and husband Lee of Houston, TX, Marie Box and husband John of Nacogdoches, TX; brother-in-law, Kenneth Hamilton of Cushing, TX; her cousin, Cindy Lucas, and her aunt, Betty Rosalis of DeQuincy, LA.

Burial will follow at a later date in Goldonna La. Fred was born on March 01, 1955 to Edward & Emma Dickson and entered into rest on December 27, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Belvia Albritton and Gloria Dickson. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Carol Anne Owen Dickson of Mansfield, LA; son, Adam C. Dickson of Mansfield, LA, daughter, Taryn E. Dickson (Gregory) of Mansfield, LA, sister, Janie Russell of Coushatta, brothers, Herman Ray Trussell of Coushatta, LA and Howard Dickson (Diane) of Mansfield, LA, Grandsons, John Paul Dickson and Gregory James Landers both of Mansfield, LA , along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

MANSFIELD, LA--Graveside services honoring the life of Thomas Bates, 84, was at 11:00 a.m Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Prude Cemetery in Mansfield, LA with Reverend David Permenter officiating. Thomas was born on May 18, 1933 to Ava and James Bates, Sr. and entered into rest on December 20, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Howard Bates, Jr. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Virginia Bates of Mansfield, LA; his daughter, Kay Sanders and friend Les Prescott of Bossier City, LA; his brother, Don Bates and wife Becky of Stanley, LA; and a special friend he thought of as his own son, Ricky Weeks and wife Raylene of Stanley, LA. Honoring the life of Thomas as pallbearers will be his nephews. The family would like to give thanks to Rusty Bates, Diane James, Sam Guy, the nurses and staff of DeSoto Retirement and Rehab, the nurses and staff of Superior Hospice, and the beloved Palmer family.
