DeSoto Chamber Hosts Ribbon Cutting for Salon Jolie in Stonewall

The DeSoto Parish Chamber of Commerce was joined by friends, staff, relatives and local dignitaries as they celebrated the Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening of Salon Jolie, located at 2070 Hwy 171 in Stonewall. Salon owner, Emily Jolie, was raised in the Southern Hills section of Shreveport, and has been working as a stylist for the past nine years.

Stonewall’s Newest Business Honored with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

On February 13, Altis Computer Services was honored with a Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening ceremonies by the DeSoto Parish Chamber of Commerce. After cutting the ribbon, those attending were able to tour the facility and ask questions about what their company had to offer, both for consumers as  well as business entities.

Retired 11th Judicial District Judge John S. Pickett, Jr. Succumbs

Funeral services were held on Friday, February 7 for retired District Judge John S. Pickett, Jr., who served on the bench for just over 18 years in the 11th Judicial District, formerly shared by DeSoto and Sabine Parishes. Judge Pickett was born on June 12, 1920 in Fisher, and passed away on February 5

12th Annual Krewe of Aquarius Parade Set to Roll This Saturday

On Friday, January 30, the Town of Logansport posted a Boil Advisory, issued by the Logansport Water System, on the Town’s website. The notice did not list the specific cause, but only stated that the Town of Logansport was
experiencing problems with the water supply system

DeSoto Schools and City of Mansfield Enter Collaborative for Fire-Fighter Training Facility

DeSoto Mayors Meet for First Quarterly Luncheon of 2014

Mayors from across DeSoto Parish met for the first time in 2014, with the Village of Grand Cane hosting the event at Village Cuisine. Others attending the meeting included town clerks, the media and several members of the DeSoto Parish Police Jury. Newly elected DPPJ President Reggie Roe spoke to the group about the continuance in 2014 of the parish-wide mosquito abatement process, asking for the cooperation from each community. Next quarterʼs meeting will be hosted by Mayor Charles Waldon in Stonewall

On Monday, January 27, the DeSoto Parish Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for W & W Insurance Company, located at 1000 Jenkins Street, Suite A (Hwy 171) in Mansfield. Owner April L. Warfield stated
that she is a full service agency, offering coverage for both commercial and personal purposes
