Come one come all to the 2015LTAHA Convention on April 11th.There will be trappingdemonstrations for skunk, coyote,and beaver. There will be specialdemos geared towards children 18years and under. There will also be abeaver speed skinning contest, liveand silent auctions for adults andchildren, and even an inflatableobstacle course for children of allages. Races for different age groupswill be held on the obstacle course.

DeSoto Habilitation Services has announced plans to host “Devices for a Better Life” on Friday, March 13 at 10:00 AM. The event will be held at the DeSoto Habilitation Services building located at 1528 Old Jefferson Hwy in Mansfield. Things that you can expect to learn about include learning about items that can help you in your daily lives such as hands-on experiences with devices as you compare different models as well as high tech versus low tech devices.

DeSoto Parish Schools were well represented in the LHSAA Top 28 Girls’ Basketball Tournament. The Mansfield High School Lady Wolverines, coming into the State tournament as the 3A 3rd ranked team, defeated Ville Platte, the 2nd ranked team, 60 to 44 in the Semifinal round to advance to the Final round against the top-ranked University Lab High School. After a very physical game in which one starter was side-lined with a head injury, the Lady Wolverines ended up as the Louisiana Class 3A State runner-up; the final score was 52 to 42.
