Lady Griffins Win Louisiana 4A State Championship

After a disappointing loss to perennial power Vandebilt Catholic in the 2014 semifinals of the LHSAA state tournament, the Lady Griffins returned all but 2 from their lineup for the 2015 campaign and they were hungry – they had a taste and wanted more. On Friday, the Lady Griffins stepped up to the table in the Quarterfinals against a Neville team who was out to avenge being ousted by the Lady Griffins in the first round of the playoffs last year.

Stanley Lady Panthers and North DeSoto Lady Griffins Advance to State Playoffs

The Lady Panthers of Stanley High School and the Lady Griffins of North DeSoto High both have advanced to the LHSAA softball playoffs to be held at Frasch Park in Sulphur this Friday.

DPPJ Honors Lady Panthers and Lady Wolverines Basketball Teams

Pictured Left: Stanley High School Head Girls Basketball Cleve Craig was presented an award by the DPPJ, recognizing the Stanley Lady Panthers basketball team, who were the state runners up for Class B Girls Basketball. Coach Craigsʼ team was unavailable to receive their award due to a conflicting track meet.

North DeSoto Fishing Team Members Qualify to Participate in Bassmaster National Finals

The North DeSoto High School Fishing Team participated in the 2015 Costa Bassmaster Central Open on March 15, 2015 on Toledo Bend out of Cypress Bend Park. The team had a total of eleven anglers fishing.

NDHS Griffins and Lady Griffins Bring Place in Spring Break Invitational

Christian Boyd (pictured above) of North Desoto High School won the boy's 300 m hurdles. His time was 38.40. The Griffins track team finished in 4th Place in a field of 12, with an overall score of 65. The Lady Griffins came out in 5th place competing in a field of 11 with a score of 49.

Heavy on the Dessert

It will go down perhaps as the greatest season that never was or maybe the dance song that was rehearsed into  oblivion. Regardless of the label to be a hacked to the 2014-15 season for the once defeated Kentucky Wildcatmen’s basketball team it will go down as incomplete for those into historical sports events or legacies of past Kentucky Wildcat teams.

Eli Shaw Bags First Turkey on Texas Hunt

Eight-year-old Eli Shaw recently bagged his first turkey on a recent Spring hunt in Texas with his “PapPap”, Jim Mason of Grand Cane. The Stanley High School student brought down his prize with a 20-gage shotgun. Proud parents are Jesse and Mindy Shaw of Grand Cane. Congratulations Eli!
