Freddie Stutts

Memorial service honoring the life of Freddie Stutts, 69, will be held, 2:00 PM Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield, LA with Reverend Johnathan McMannis officiating. Freddie was born November 9, 1944 in Booneville, MS to Freeman Stutts and Maggie Davis Stutts and passed away April 17, 2014. Freddie proudly served his country in the U.S. ARMY and was a member of Mt. Heights Baptist Church. Freddie was also a Mason and a member of Cedar Grove Lodge #403. Preceding Freddie in death were his father Freeman Stutts; mother Maggie Davis Cates and step-father John Cates. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years Diane Stutts; sons Kevin Stutts and wife Kelli and Landon Stutts; sister Nancy Stutts; brother Johnny Cates and wife Carolyn; grandchildren Trenton Stutts, Collin Stutts, and Brantlee Stutts; and many beloved dogs.

Edie Platt Black

Funeral services honoring the life of Edie Platt Black were held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, La. Interment followed at Grand Cane Cemetery in Grand Cane, LA. Visitation was on Friday, April 11, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA. Edie lost her battle with cancer on April 9, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. She was born on July 10, 1951 to her  parents Lloyd Burton Platt and Edith Parker Platt. She proudly worked as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery and also in Dialysis. She was a beloved daughter, mother and friend. Edie is preceded in death by her father Lloyd Burton Platt and brother Paul Parker Platt. She is survived by her mother Edith Parker Platt; daughters Erin Black Larance and husband Patrick Lewis Larance and Jennifer Nicole Black.

Linda D. Ware

Funeral services honoring the life of Linda D. Ware, 63, was held 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield, LA with Reverend Toby Shaw and Reverend Troy Terrell officiating. Burial followed in St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery in Stonewall, LA. Linda was born September 28, 1950 in Bastrop, LA to Dan and Mavis Hattaway and passed away in Stonewall, LA on April 4, 2014. Preceding Linda in death
were her parents Dan Louis and Mavis Irene Thomas Hattaway. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 33 years Bill Ware; son Gary Hobbs and wife Jennifer; daughter Amanda Leigh Ware; and grandson Silas Aaron Hobbs. Honoring the life of Linda as pallbearers were Scotty Thomas, Donnie Thomas, Horace Womack, Danny Jamison, Don English, and Billy Locke

Funeral services honoring the life of Charles Daniel Welborn were held at Rose-Neath Chapel in Mansfield, LA on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Matt Sullivan officiating. Interment followed at Don Jones Cemetery in Mansfield, LA. The family received friends on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents Truitt and Mary
Welborn and two daughters Claudia Welborn and Morgan Welborn. He is survived by one son Truitt Welborn; four sisters Linda Bozyone, Glenda Shelton, Diane Crawford, Patricia Corley; three brothers David Ray
Welborn, Sr., Wendell Welborn, Lavell Welborn; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Honoring the life of Daniel as pallbearers were Trent Welborn, Andrew Corley, Toby Bozyone, Joseph Crawford, Merle Crawford and Ragan Crawford. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Metcalf and Cody Welborn.

Jack D. Briggs

Jack D. Briggs, 81, of Bryan passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. The family received friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 21st, with a service that started at 6:30 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station. A funeral service was scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 22nd at Bethel United Methodist Church  in Logansport, LA. Burial followed in the Bethel Cemetery. Mr. Briggs was born April 24, 1932 in Michigan, the son of Rena Ellen (Raymond) Briggs and William Walter Briggs. Jack served in the Air Force as a military policeman and was stationed in Texas, Germany and Spain. After leaving the Air

Funeral services for John Cailin Moore 19 of Michie, TN were held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Rose- Neath Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Toby Shaw officiated. Interment followed in the Oxford Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral  home on Monday, March 17, 2014 from 5-9pm. John was born in Shreveport, LA on July 12, 1994. He entered into eternal rest in Michie, TN as the result of an automobile accident on March 14, 2014. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather James Marvin Robbins. He is survived by his mother Belinda Moore of Michie, TN; father Ray Moore of Shreveport, LA; brother Zach Moore of Michie, TN; sister Sidney Brianne Moore of Edmunton Alberta; maternal grandmother Virginia Robbins of the Oxford Community; paternal grandparents Robert and Elizabeth Moore of Brownsville, TX; and a host of friends. Honoring him as pallbearers were Lucas Roy, Keith Austin,Bobby Moore, Jonathon Allums, Zach Moore, and Thomas Zimmerman
