Miranda Horn was born in Coushatta, La. October 4, 1972 and graduated from Pelican High School. She earned an associate’s degree in social work from Angelina College and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now known as the University of Louisiana at Lafayette).

On Tuesday, October 21, the Mansfield High JAG (Jobs for America’s graduates) Career Association Officers had the opportunity to travel to Lafayette, La., to attend the 19th Annual Student Leadership Conference. Students had the opportunity to learn from other JAG officers throughout the state of Louisiana as well as compete for State offices.

BackAlley Theatre Adds Additional Performances Due to Popular Demand

Due to the tremendous popularity of the BackAlley Production of "Always...Patsy Cline" the play will continue for two more shows: October 17 and 18 at 7pm in the theater. Box office is 872-6373 or 461 8684 and tickets are $10. The
full length musical play about the country music superstar and her most ardent fan has been playing for two weeks at the theater in Grand Cane, but the demand for tickets continues so the play will be extended another weekend

The Books & Biscuits Book Club met for its monthly meeting on October 7th at Cook Hill Bed & Breakfast in Grand Cane, LA. Edith Herring led the lively book discussion with twenty-three readers present, most with very different and distinct ideas about the selection at hand. The “Language of Secrets” by Dianne Dixon unflinchingly examines the lifelong repercussions of a father’s betrayal
