After a tough loss in week one against Many, the Griffins went to work making improvements. They weren’t discouraged by the loss. They want to show everyone they’re still a top team in district 4A. They opened district play at home against Northwood. This one would come down to a crazy ending.
North DeSoto received the ball, but quickly went 3 and out and had to punt it away. Northwood came out with a good opening drive. They had it in the red zone before Jalind Brown intercepted it. He had a nice return as well, which gave the Griffins good starting field position. The offense couldn’t take advantage of the mistake and went 3 and out once again. Northwood had a better drive this time as they found their way into the endzone. The snap was bad on the extra point and it was blocked (kicking was major factor in the outcome of this game) Northwood took the lead 6-0 with 1:30 left in the first quarter.
