A Service to honor the life of Betty Jean Bates Breeland was held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 in Rose- Neath Mansfield Chapel with Bro. Larry Pridmore and Bro. Joe Waggoner officiating. Her family received friends from 5:00 until 9:00 PM on Monday, September 8, 2014 at Rose- Neath Mansfield Funeral Home. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.  Betty Jean was born November 24, 1927, to Louis Reed and Gladys Roberts Bates
and went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 6, 2014. She was a devout Christian and taught all of us the way to live by example. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. BB was a wonderful and
caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her great grands were the light of her life. She always enjoyed attending any events in which her kids participated. She enjoyed her birds, hummers, squirrels, and flowers.

Geraldine Lord was born September 1st 1924 in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana. She graduated high school in Pleasant Hill in 1941. After graduation moved to California to work in an airplane factory as a “Rosie the Riveter.”
There she met and on July 1st, 1943 she married Jack Stoner. Jack and Geraldine made their home in Watertown, South Dakota moving back to Pleasant Hill, Louisiana some twenty years later. Geraldine was a member of

Willie Leon Vanzant

Willie Leon Vanzant was born to the union of Arlimon Vanzant Sr. and Louella Pullen Vanzant on September 17, 1945 in Mansfield Louisiana. He departed this life August 13, 2014 @1:49pm at David Grant Medical Center (Travis AFB) Fairfield, CA. Willie Leon graduated from DeSoto High School in  Mansfield, La. in 1964. After which he joined the United States Army in 1966 where he proudly served his country. In 1969 he met the love of his life Ruth Elaine Canada, they were married August 5, 1972. During their 42 years of marriage God blessed this union with four children Tonya, Demetrice, Gregory, and Jonathan. In 1994 he moved to Sacramento, CA. Willie Leon was a great man of integrity. He will be remembered for the love he had for his family, his vibrant smile, his charisma, style, and class. Homegoing services for Leon will be at the Cedar Hill Baptist Church on Highway 84 West on Saturday August 30, 2014 at 11:00 am.

Joan Stribling Adams

Funeral services honoring the life of Joan Stribling Adams were held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Rose-Neath Chapel in Mansfield, LA. Interment followed at Sloan Cemetery in Mansfield, LA. Visitation will be on Friday, August 22, 2014 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Joan was born on April 20, 1932 in Grand Cane, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her parents Jack Andrew Jackson Stribling and Dorothy Elizabeth  Jones; husband Charles R. Adams and daughter Anita Gail Granger; and brother Jack Everett Stribling. Joan is survived by two daughters, Margaret Ann Starr of   Houston, Texas and Karen Sue Childs and husband Terry of Houston, Texas; sister Elizabeth Jane Ponder; grandchildren Kelly Renea Newland, Kathryn Elizabeth Starr, Andrea Devin Smith, Charles Andrew Grander; Great grandchildren Grace Newland, Emily Anderson, Langston Smith, Ellison Smith, and Hannah Gail Grander
