On Monday, September 27, The Mansfield Police Department began collecting disaster relief supplies for those impacted by Hurricane Ida. They started with any empty truck bed and trailer and left Friday morning fully packed and covered with tarps that will also be left for the victims of Ira. MPD Assistant Chief led the convoy from Mansfield ro deliver all of these items, plus much need fuel where there currently is none. Even if people have generators they won’t work without fuel.
Some of the donated items from citizens included diapers, baby wipes, deodorant, bug spray, toothpaste, dry shampoo, trash bags, cases of water, cases of Gatorade, tarps, cleaning supplies, sunscreen, toilet paper, flashlights, batteries, roofing nails, batteries, baby formula, baby bottles, Clorox wipes, bleach, pet food, work gloves, socks, feminine products, first aid stuff, sleeping bags, over the counter meds, and non-perishable snacks.
