DeSoto Parish Joins Logansport in Mourning the Loss of Norman Arbuckle

Popular parish and Logansport town leader Norman Arbuckle passed away on February 19, 2021 at the Highland Hospital in Shreveport. Services honoring his life were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26 at Roseneath Funeral Home in Logansport. Visitation was held prior to the service. Rev. Nancy Wofford and Norman’s nephew, retired DeSoto Parish Sheriff Rodney Arbuckle presided over the service.

He was in born June 1935 in Fitchtown, OK and made his way to Logansport, where he attended, participated in sports and graduated from Logansport High School in 1954. After high school, he joined the United States Army.

While serving overseas in the Army as a First Sergeant Military Policeman he married his wife of 62 years, Jeannine, and brought her back to his hometown of Logansport. Upon returning to the United States (and still serving our country), he and Jeannine moved around with four kids in tow.

In 1973, Norman retired from the military and yet again found his way home to Logansport. Once he returned he worked until his retirement with Bell South as a line repair technician after 27 years of service.
