On Friday the 13th, the Wolverine Football Team traveled to Springhill to play the North Webster Knights. The game turned out to be very unlucky for the North Webster team, as the MHS Wolverines soundly defeated them in a district contest by a score of 46 - 20.

First quarter action saw 2 of the 4 touchdown passes thrown by MHS Sophomore QB DaKeltrick Thomas. His first pass for 6 went to Senior Adrian Green and the second TD was scored by Senior Josh Ford. MHS rolled into the second quarter with those two TDs being the only scores in the first quarter. Early in the second quarter, North Webster answered with a TD and a 2-point conversion. Not deterred, Junior Running Back Monquavarius Wells showed some of his moves and speed with a touchdown run for 6 with about 9 minutes remaining in the half. The MHS defense showed some moves on its part when Senior Nick Spencer recovered a fumble deep in Wolverine territory and ran it back into the endzone for a touchdown; the Wolverines were successful with a two-point conversion by Wells. The last 3 minutes of the first half included a lot of action by both teams: North Webster scored a touchdown; MHS could not score on their next possession; Mansfield’s Atravius Perry had an interception with 1:08 in the half; on the very next play, MHS Wide Receiver and speedster, Travion Short, ran into the endzone to score another TD for the Wolverines with 8.5 seconds remaining. Unfortunately, the final play of the half did not go the way that MHS wanted, for a North Webster “Hail Mary” into the endzone was tipped and ended up in the hands of a North Webster Knight to earn another score for the North Webster team. The half ended with the Wolverines up by 8 with a score of 32 - 20.
