NDHS Griffins Get a Huge Homecoming Win

It was homecoming in Stonewall. With all the COVID restrictions this season, it was good to have a little bit of normalcy back. The Griffins got some good news as well. Finding out Northwood had to forfeit their first two games of the season because of a violation, that meant North DeSoto had a win back and jumped up in the 4A rankings. This changes the Griffins whole season and gave them a ton of motivation. With Evangel coming for Homecoming, North DeSoto looked to keep the momentum going.

Evangel got the ball to start the game. They were stopped when they went for it on fourth down by a big hit from Dylan Olivier. For the Griffins first drive, it was a lot of the same we’ve seen from them this season, runs from David Atkins and Kelvin Kinney before John Lewis took it into the endzone. The extra point was missed so the Griffins had the lead 6-0 with 5:12 left. Evangel went for it again on fourth down and was stopped on a big hit by Logan Ferguson. The Griffins had the ball and went for it on fourth down as well and didn’t convert. Evangel would have the ball to start the second quarter.
