50 Mile Trail of Treasure Rescheduled for Oct. 17

For the first time in the history of the 50 Mile Trail of Treasure event, organizers had to call a rain date due to the forecast in our area for Hurricane Delta. The weather ended up being beautiful and sunny to the dismay of all. The silver lining of our clouds was to grant vendors and treasure hunters additional time to prepare for one of DeSoto Parish’s favorite events. Booths are scheduled to set up around 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. with many choosing to stay longer.

The official trail runs from Hwy 171 at the Caddo-DeSoto line in Stonewall continuing to Kickapoo and Gloster. It keeps going straight to the quaint little village of Grand Cane that always offers unique gift items at their stores and restaurants with booths set up in the shady part of the old Hwy 171. When you get back on the road, drive to Mansfield on Hwy 171 and take a right on Hwy 84, where vendors will be set up from South Mansfield to Stanley and into Logansport. You will then want to cross the bridge into Haslam and Joaquin. Some start their trek for treasures in Texas and travel toward Stonewall.
