Tigers Open 2020 Season with 40-20 Win

The year 2020 has been one for the books and the 2020 High School Football Season finally got underway this past Friday night. The Logansport Tigers got their abbreviated season started with a matchup with the visiting Bossier Bearkats. With the uncertainty of the season LHS honored their 2020 Senior on opening night. The Tigers were able to start the season with a 40-20 over the visiting Bearkats. This week the Tigers travel to Independence Stadium to take on the Woodlawn Knights.

Logansport received the opening kickoff and began their inaugural drive on their own 45- yard line. On the first play as if saying finally game time, Key’savalyn Barnes took the handoff and raced 55 yards for the touchdown. The extra point attempt failed and the Tigers led 6-0. On their first possession Bossier fumbled the ball on their 3rd play. Emmanuel Simpson recovered the ball for the Tigers on the Tiger 34 yard line. The Tigers were forced to punt after 3 plays. On the punt there was an errant touch by the Bearkats and was recovered by Jacob Contario for the Tigers. With 5:50 left in the opening quarter, Khameron Boykins scored on a 2 yard run. After a failed conversion, the Tigers led 12-0.
