North DeSoto Falls Short Against Many

After a long time of not being certain if there would be a football season, it was finally time to turn on the Friday Night Lights and play some ball. North DeSoto traveled to Many to begin the season. This game is always close and always comes down the very end. And this year was no different.

North DeSoto kicked off to begin the game. Many put together a good first drive, the main production was a 52-yard play that got them into the red zone. They took it into the endzone shortly after. They took the lead 7-0 with 7:04 left in the first quarter. On North DeSoto’s first drive they had a couple of good plays. A nice catch from Justin Lafitte and Kelvin Kinney made some moves with his legs. It looked liked the griffins were rolling, but a couple of plays went in reverse, with a bad snap and a plenty, it killed the momentum and the griffins turned it over on downs. The Griffins defense came back out strong and forced a quick punt. The next Griffin drive started with a 22 yard run by Kelvin Kinney before he connected big with Sebastian Falls for 40 yards, which got them into the red zone before David Atkins took it in for six. It was tied 7-7 with 37 seconds left in the first. On the kickoff, Many fumbled and North DeSoto recovered.
