DeSoto Chamber to Host Political Candidates at October Luncheon Meeting

Executive Director of the DeSoto Chamber of Commerce Brenda Hall has announced that the speakers for the October 20th meeting will be the candidates for District Attorney and two judge’s seats. All candidates are vying for positions within the 42nd Judicial District. Those speaking include the District Attorney incumbent Gary Evans who is challenged by Charles Adams. Candidates for the District A Judges seat are incumbent Amy Burford McCartney who is being challenged by Brenda Ford. The District B judge’s seat was left vacant when Adams retired his position. Two candidates, Nicholas Gasper and George Winston, are seeking that seat.

Due to the reduced capacity in the building the Chamber will only be able to accept the first 53 people that sign up. A boxed lunch will be provided for $11.00 and you must RSVP by October 14. Hall stated that they couldn’t accept more than the law allows. If you do not RSVP you cannot attend due to COVID-19 mandates.
