MARIE “ANNETTE” WATSON

Stonewall, LA - Marie “Annette” Watson of Stonewall, LA., passed away at home on March 21, 2020. There will be a graveside service on March 25, 2020 at The Minden Cemetery in Minden, LA. at 1:00 p.m.

Annette was born on August 5, 1938 in Minden, LA. to William and Elizabeth Martin Luck. She grew up in Minden where she graduated from Minden High School in 1956. After high school, she graduated from Louisiana Tech in Ruston, LA. where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. She worked for the State of Louisiana Department of Children and Family services and retired in 1994. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles Lavell Watson of Minden in 1957.

She enjoyed her church, singing in the choir, family, traveling, spending time at the lake in her camper, shopping and eating out. She especially cherished her weekly “lunch brunch” get-togethers of 20 plus years with friends Norma Carney, Diane McDonald and Barbara Box. These friends, along with many other have been such a blessing to her and her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Henry Luck; and mother, Elizabeth Martin Luck, both of Minden, LA.

She is survived by her spouse, Charles; two daughters, Debbie (Roger) Smith of San Antonio, TX., Dana (Shawn) Giddens of Minden, LA.; three grandchildren, Michael (Stephanie) Giddens of Shreveport, LA., Jeremy Smith of Cleveland, OH. and Christy (Bret) Guice of Jacksonville, FL. Annette was blessed to have four great-grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Elizabeth and Everly.

In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make a donation can do so to the Salem Baptist Church Building Fund in Stonewall, LA. or to The Baptist Children’s Home in Monroe, LA.

The family would like to acknowledge the staff and members of Salem Baptist Church, Stonewall, LA. for the love and support they have offered over these last several months. Acknowledgements also go to the Willis Knighton Medical System and LSU Ochsner Medical System in Shreveport, LA.
