Tigers Season Ended by Oak Grove Tigers

The Logansport Tigers saw their 2019 season end in the semi-finals of the Class 1-A playoffs. The Tigers traveled to Oak Grove to take on the Number 4 seeded Oak Grove Tigers. Logansport came into the game on a 7 game win streak with a 7-5 overall record. Oak Grove had posted a 9-3 record coming into the game. Oak Grove defeated the Tigers 41-0 to earn the right to play in the Class 1-A State Championship game.

Logansport received the opening kick but were forced to punt after only 4 plays. Oak Grove took over on their on 20 yardline and were forced to punt after 5 plays. The Tigers next possession began on their 26 yardline. On the 6th play of the drive the Tigers fumbled and it was recovered by Oak Grove. Oak Grove drove 46 yards in 3 play before scoring on a 1 yard touchdown. After the extra point the lead stood at 7-0 with 2:10 left in the opening quarter. Logansport was once again forced to punt after 3 plays. The Tiger defense forced Oak Grove to turn the ball over on downs. On the second play of the Tigers drive, Oak Grove forced a fumble that was scooped up and carried into the enzone. Another successful extra point and with 5:14 left in the half Oak Grove led 14-0. The turnover bug struck the Tigers again on their next possession when an interception gave Oak Grove a chance for another touchdown before half. With 46 second left in the half Oak Grove scored again to push the lead to 20-0.
