Jurors Retain Positions with Holmes Coming on Board; Edwards and Ardoin Remain in Office

It seems DeSoto Parish Districts 4B, 4D, and 6 constitutes were content with their current representation as they re-elected their jurors to continue representing these seats, with a new juror elected to take the position over District 1A. Jimmy Holmes will now serve District 1A after receiving 588 votes (60%) over Bruce Abrams. Holmes will fill the seat now being held by Charlie Roberts who did not seek re-election.

Runoff elections faced off incumbent Police Juryman for District 4B Jeri Burrell, who was challenged by Charlotte Miller. Burrell received 514 votes (60%) and will retain her seat, with Miller receiving 347 votes (40%). In District 4D, incumbent Juror Thomas Jones received 467 votes (53%) with challenger JoAnn Peoples Atkins receiving 411 votes (47%). Jones will also retain his seat as Juror. Although Ricky McPhearson led District 6 Juror Rodriguez Ross in the runoff election, Ross was able to defeat McPhearson in the election and hang on to his seat. McPhearson received 400 votes (43%) with Ross receiving 539 votes (57%).
