North DeSoto Survives Senior Night to Secure a Playoff Spot

North DeSoto has had a tough season. With only three wins on the season, it’s not the record they would have hoped for. It was a big night for the Griffins. Senior night and the last regular season game. This was a must win game if they wanted to keep their season alive. The Griffins came out ready to fight.

Quarter 1

Woodlawn received the ball. The Griffin defense forced a three and out and a punt. The Griffin offense went three and out as well. It took just two plays and Woodlawn found the end zone. They mishandled the hold on the extra point, but still managed to pick it up and get it into the endzone for a two point conversion. The Knights took the lead 8-0 with 7:40 left. The Griffins had an answer with a good return on the kickoff by Mike Lias gave them good field position. David Atkins had most of the runs on this drive before Beau Phillips came in on the last few plays to finish off the drive in the end zone. The score was now 8-7 with 3:28 left. Woodlawn got a couple of first downs on their next drive, but the Griffin defense forced a punt.
