North DeSoto had a good win last week in a non-district game against North Webster. This week they had another test against district team Minden. This was also their third road game in a row. Last years game with Minden was thriller overtime victory for the Griffins and they hoped this year’s matchup would bring another exciting game.

Quarter 1

Minden received the ball. They started off with a screen pass that got them a first down. Then after several runs they found their way into the end zone for the first score. Minden took the lead 7-0 with 7:35 left. North DeSoto’s first try on offense was a three and out. The defense forced Minden to go three and out. North DeSoto’s still couldn’t get anything going and punted again. Minden completed a long pass down field to end the first quarter.

Quarter 2

After the long pass, Minden had a bad snap, but recovered from it as the quarterback got the ball out to a receiver who took it into the end zone. The score was now 14-0 with 11:07 left. North DeSoto punted again. The defense finally forced a three out against Minden, but on the first play North DeSoto fumbled and Minden recovered. Minden took advantage of the turnover and got into the end zone. The score was now 21-0 with 7:02 left. North DeSoto went three and out once again. Minden completed a long pass before running it into the endzone. The score was now 28-0 with 3:53 left. North DeSoto’s offense had to punt once again. Minden got it into end zone once. On this play Matthew Wisher got hit on a blindside block which didn’t get penalized. Wisher was taken by ambulance to get further evaluation on his head and neck, but he is believed to be okay. This is how the quarter came to an end. Minden in the lead 35-0.
