Local Technical College is Now a Community College

Chancellor Earl Meador of the newly renamed Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College (NLTCC) and members of the Mansfield and DeSoto Parish Chamber of Commerce celebrated with him at a ribbon cutting ceremony that was held on Thursday, October 10. Meador would then travel on to two other ribbon cutting ceremonies in Shreveport and Minden, celebrating the renaming of the Shreveport, Minden and Mansfield campuses. The change from Northwest Louisiana Technical College was made official July 1, 2019.

Welcoming officials and guests to the celebration was Mansfield Campus Dean, Pam Hubier, with DeSoto Parish Chamber of Commerce President Blaine Hodges acknowledging the school and what it means to the community. The invocation was said by Rev. Carl Scott, followed by remarks from DeSoto Regional Health Systems CEO Todd Eppler, Mansfield Mayor John Mayweather, and NLTCC Chancellor Earl Meador. State Representatives and Larry Bagley and Kenny Cox also spoke to those gathered about NLTCC and its importance in DeSoto Parish.
