North DeSoto is coming off of a nail biter win against Many. They wanted to take that momentum into this week’s contest against district rival Northwood. The Falcons have won the past couple of match ups and the Griffins were looking to change that. They knew they would have their hands full against a stacked Northwood team lead by talented quarterback Luke Bogan and 29 other seniors. North DeSoto never backs down from a challenge.

1st quarter

North DeSoto received the ball to start. They put together a nice first drive getting into the red zone with most runs by Mike Lias and Avery Dumas caught a couple of passes. Kelvin Kinney took it into the end zone, but was called back on holding. He then completed a pass to Derobieyae Atkins. Another holding penalty brought the griffins back. They tried for a field goal, but missed. This was an eight minute drive that resulted in points. Those penalties really killed the momentum for North DeSoto. Northwood started the drive with a 50 yard play. The Griffin defense was able to bring up forth down, but Northwood went for it and scored. They took the lead 7-0 with 3:05 left. North DeSoto went three and out and had to punt. Northwood answered on one pass play to the end zone. The score was now 14-0 with 48 seconds left.
