The Logansport Tigers came out on the short end of the score 25-14 against the Class 4A Woodlawn Knights. In the first meeting between the 2 schools, the Tigers once again had a chance for the win in the final seconds but came up short. Logansport will have 1 more tune up before District play starts. Next up is a Homecoming matchup with DeSoto Parish rival Mansfield. This will be the 62nd meeting between the Tigers and Wolverines. Against the Knights, the Tiger defense played their best game of the season. They only allowed 2 touchdowns and 160 yards. The defense was able to record 15 tackles for loss in the game.

Woodlawn scored the only touchdown of the first half on a 9 yard run. They added the extra point for a 7-0 half time lead. In the third quarter the Knights added to their lead with a 4 yard pass play. The extra point failed and the lead was 13-0. The Tigers were able to get on the board on the first carry of the game for Key’savalyn Barnes. Barnes broke free from the 10 yard line for the score. The extra point failed and the lead was cut to 13-6. On the ensuing kickoff, the Knight returned the kick 80 yards for the touchdown. The kick failed and the score stood 19-6. In the fourth quarter, the Tigers were able to find the endzone for a second time when Xavier Simpson scored from the 1 yard line. Simpson ran in the conversion to close the gap to 19-14. Woodlawn’s final score came on the last play of the game when they intercepted a Tigers pass and returned it 95 yards for the score.
