Early voting in DeSoto Parish and throughout the state will begin Saturday, September 28 and run through Saturday, October 5, with the exception of Sunday, September 29. In Mansfield, voters will have an option to cast their ballots at the new Registrar of Voters office, located at 104 Crosby Street, known to locals as “the old library,” or at the old ROV’s office located at 105 Franklin Street, next door to the DeSoto Parish Police Jury’s office, and across the street from the Courthouse. Hours for early voting are from 8:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. All voters will need to furnish a state issued photo ID or driver’s license when they sign in at the ROV’s office.

Moving the Early Voting location to the new ROV’s office has come under fire with DeSoto Clerk of Court Jeremy Evans, and Police Jurors Thomas Jones, Jeri Burrell, and Richard Fuller being the most vocal with their opposition. Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin, Police Jury President Reggie Roe, and DeSoto Registrar of Voters Amanda (Mars) Raynes made the decision that they felt was the best solution, which will offer voting options at both the old and new location. There will be staff on hand at both locations to guide you through the process, with one machine at the old office and three at the new location.
