Vanessa Woolridge Duplessia, M.D. And Board Certified OBGYN was born in Mansfield, Louisiana on October 5, 1965 to Larnceen and Maattie Wooiridge. She joined the St. James AME Church at an early age. She passed away April 18, 2019.

Family hour will be at Jenkins Funeral Home on 170 Van Buren Street, Mansfield, La on Friday, April 26, 2019,from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral at Mansfield High School gynasium in Mansfield, La at 10:00 a.m. Interment at New Hope Well Cementary in Bernice, LA

Vanessa received her early education in the schools of DeSoto Parish, having graduated from Mansfield High School in 1983. She received her Bachelor Degree from LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, M.D.Degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C. She did her intern at Tulane University in New Orleans,LA

At the time of her passing , she lived in Plano, Texas. Vanessa was a very successful doctor in Piano, TX.

She was a loving wife to her husband, Darren Duplessia and devoted mother to her only son, Nigel Duplessia.

Vanessa was lovingly called "Ness" by her family and friends. She had a magnetic personality that filled a room, and a warm smile that made everyone feel welcome. She knew no strangers. Vanessa was devoted to her Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated . She was dediated member of The One Community Church in Plano, TX, Pastor: Rev. Brenton Gross.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Whit and Lilkan Reed, Lee and Scleaner Woolridg and brother Orlando Vernada Woolridge.

She leaves to cherish her memories:her parents, Mattie and Larnceen Woolridge, (Mansfield,LA) son Nigel Duplessia, husband Darren Duplessia (Plano, TX), and one brother, Warren McCastle (Baton Rouge), two nieces ,Parris Woolridge (Baitimore, MD), Tiana Woolridge (Los Angles, CA), three nephews, Zachary Woolridge and Renaldo Wooiridge (Los Angles, CA), Royce Woolridge (Phoenix, AZ), one ex-sisterin-law, Patricia Jackson Woolridge (Los, Angeles,CA), one aunt, Laura Knighton, (Hammond, LA), and a host of many cousins and friends.
