At a private event held at the Clista A. Calhoun Center, Mansfield Police Chief Gary Hobbs was honored with a retirement party by Mayor John Mayweather, the Mansfield City Council, and the Mansfield Police Department. Guests enjoyed hearing speakers tell of various accomplishments and stories of Hobb’s 30 year career with the MPD.

A buffet of fried catfish with all the trimmings was prepared by various members of the Mansfield Police Department, who also helped serve the guests.

It was a bittersweet farewell to one of Mansfield’s most beloved Chiefs of Police, who was always a friend to all. We wish him well in his retirement years with his wife, Jennifer and son, Silas.
