Logansport Shuts Out Gueydan 48-0

The Logansport Tigers are headed to the Quarterfinals of the Class 1A Playoffs after defeating the gueydan Bears 48-0. The Tigers were able to score in each quarter and kept the Bears out of the endzone to earn the shutout. It was the Tigers 4th shutout of the season. Next Friday Logansport will play host to the West St John Rams. West St John defeated Homer 49-7.

For the 3rd game in a row, Logansport scored on their 1st offensive play, when Landon Moon passed 20 yards to Josh Darden. Austin Edgar added the extra point for a 7-0 lead with 11:06 left in the first quarter. The touchdown was set up when the Bears fumbled on their second play. Edgar’s extra point was the 100ht of his career. On the first play of the second quarter, Moon passed 25 yards to Patrick Mims for the touchdown. The extra point failed and the Tigers led 13-0. The scoring drive covered 80 yards in 5 plays. Facing a 3rd and 20 after a sack, Moon tossed a screen pass to Madrid Johnson Jr, who raced 89 yards for the score. The pass was the 2nd longest in Tiger history. Moon ran in the conversion for the 21-0. With 53 second left in the half, Moon tossed his 4th touchdown of the night, this time a jet sweep to Tresmin Brown for 10 yards. The extra point failed and the halftime score stood 27-0.
