What In The Heck Is A Fiduciary Somebody wants to make you a Fiduciary, what in the heck is a fiduciary. We country folks know it as a Power of Attorney. You can hear your cousin em' bragging, "We mommy's power of attorney." Fiduciary merely means someone known as the “Principal” has/is giving you LEGAL AUTHORITY to decide on their asset (cash in any form, property in any kind). That fiduciary responsibility can be limited to a certain amount or specific things. It can cover all things and everything belonging to the Principal. Once you are the Fiduciary, you are the manager to care for the Principal.
