The Logansport Tigers 2017 season came to an end this past Friday night in Edgard, Louisiana with a 34-18 loss to the West St John Rams. The Rams came into the game as the number 1 seed in the Class A Playoffs. The win ended the Tigers 27 game winning streak that included 2 District 3-1A Championships and the Class A State Championship last season. The 18 point is the fewest the Tigers have scored in a game since the 2013 season. The current Tiger seniors finished their careers with a 42-11 record truly an amazing 4 year run and nothing to hang their head about.

The Tigers received the opening kickoff and ran 5 plays before being forced to punt. The Rams took over on their own 24 yard line and went on a 8 play drive that ended in a touchdown when the quarterback passed 20 yard to his end for the touchdown. A successful extra point attempt led to a 7-0 lead with 6:15 left in the opening quarter. The next Tiger drive ended when quarterback Dalton Shaw threw an interception, it was Shaw’s first interception since the opening game against Jonesboro-Hodge. After the teams exchanged punts West St John began the next scoring drive on their 18 yard line. A 69 yard pass completion set the Rams up for a 1 yard touchdown run. Another successful extra point gave the Rams a 14-0 lead with 58 seconds left in the quarter.
