Katelyn Long has been awarded the DRTA Scholarship for 2015. Katelyn is a 2015 graduate of Stanley High School who plans to attend LSU-Shreveport this fall and pursue a degree in Secondary Mathematics Education. When asked why she wants to be a teacher her reply was that "she is good in math and enjoyed tutoring students to earn community service hours for Beta Club". Her involvement in many school organizations, her impressive ACT score and the college credits she earned while in high school are an auspicious start to her career in education. Pictured with Katelyn is Wanda Rougeau, president of DRTA.
