The byline has not changed after a hiatus of almost two years; meantime, if it had not been for bad luck we would not have had any luck at all. We, on Martha Avenue, have made it through infected feet, Mary with a broken and infected leg. She was down six months, Ol’ Diggin away four months. Every time we visited the old homestead, it waved us back. Finally. As we old cotton farming boys used to say, “it was a hard row to hoe”.
