JOHN HERSCHEL BEDSOLE

John Herschel Bedsole, 76, of Mansfield, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born on February 24, 1950, in Mansfield, Louisiana. A Memorial service was held on Wednesday July 29, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel, 943 Polk Street, Mansfield, Louisiana. John was a hard working and dedicated businessman who owned and operated a machine shop for more than 50 years. Specializing in the creation of flame-cut sprockets, he took great pride in his work and built a reputation for quality craftsmanship, honesty and dedication.

Above all else John loved his family. His children and grandchildren were the center of his world, and he treasured every moment spent with them. He also had a lifelong passion for hunting and restoring old vehicles. Whether he was at his machine shop, outdoors, or spending time with those he loved, John found joy in the simple things in life.

John will be remembered for his kind heart and generous spirit. His legacy of strength, integrity and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his son, Blake Bedsole and wife, Holley; his daughter, Danielle Bedsole; his cherished grandchildren, Adalynn Bedsole and Hayden Bedsole, his sister Martha Floyd and husband Jack; his brother, Blanchard Bedsole and wife Debbie, extended family Jennifer Woods, Taylor Woods & Madison Woods, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

He is preceded in death by his parent’s, Letha Huffman Bedsole and Henry Curtis Bedsole; his sister, Alma “Marie” Welborn; and his brothers Henry Bedsole, Jerry Bedsole, Kenneth Bedsole, and Frank Bedsole.

John’s life was one defined by hard work, love for his family, and generosity toward others. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the values he instilled will remain with those who were blessed to know him forever.
