Joaquin Rams Lose to Hamilton Bulldogs 12 to 7

Only two teams get to play the last game in the Texas State Finals. Joaquin was one of them. That’s not a loss, that’s legacy, effort, and a standard set for those coming next. This was the first time for either of these two teams to go to the state playoffs. They both gave it their all! Proud of these men!

North DeSoto Falls Just Short in the State Championship

North DeSoto Falls Just Short in the State Championship

This senior class for North DeSoto ended their freshman in the Dome and now they were going to end their senior year in the same place. The only difference this time is they wanted to walk out with the trophy. It was the 1 seed versus 2 seed. 13–0 versus 13–0. They were taking on Iowa, a team they had already faced two out of the last three seasons. This time it was for all the marbles. Both teams fighting for their first state championship in school history.

These outstanding scholars didn’t just attend — they made their voices heard on a national stage. Jacques and Yuxi advocated for JAG on Capitol Hill, holding meaningful conversations with Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and Congressman Cleo Fields.

Throughout NSLA, they connected with business leaders, industry influencers, and key JAG stakeholders, proudly sharing their stories, their accomplishments, and the power of what Mansfield students can do when given the opportunity.

This wasn’t just a trip — it was a moment, and our Wolverines rose to it. We are so proud of them for representing Mansfield with brilliance, confidence, and leadership.

Dense Fog a Factor in Fatal Multi-Vehicle DeSoto Parish Crash

On November 5, 2025, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 49 near Louisiana Highway 177. The crash claimed the life of 50-year-old Lawrence Irchirl of Natchitoches.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer traveling north on Interstate 49 during reported dense fog conditions were involved in a crash, resulting in the tractor-trailer overturning on the roadway. For reasons still under investigation, this crash subsequently began a series of additional crashes in the northbound lane of Interstate 49. Moments later, a 2002 Ford F-350, driven by Irchirl, approached the location of the crash and collided with an 18-wheeler parked on the roadway and occupied by another motorist.
