JAMES TODD ROY

SEPTEMBER 8, 1960 — NOVEMBER 25, 2025

James Todd Roy was born on September 8, 1960, in Shreveport, Louisiana, the son of the late Jeff Roy and Glynda Moore. He attended Mansfield High School In 1981 he married Cathy Robbins of the Oxford Community and became a beloved family member. They were blessed with three wonderful sons, Justin, Luke, and Dylan. After growing deep roots and making lasting friendships in DeSoto parish, James and his family moved to Michie Tennessee. He worked as an industrial scaffolding expert; a craft he took great pride in throughout his career. A wonderful father and grandfather, James proudly spent many happy hours watching his children and grandchildren excel in band and sports. A true outdoorsman, He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and canoeing. James was always happiest outside — whether he was working in the yard, sitting beside a fire with music playing, or spending time with family and friends. Generous and dependable, he never hesitated to help anyone in need. James will be fondly remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, friend, and neighbor.

James passed away with loved ones by his side on November 25, 2025, in Selmer, Tennessee, at the age of 65 years, 2 months, and 17 days. He is survived by two sons, Justin Roy (and his girlfriend, Dajuanna Moody) of Ramer, TN, and Lucas Roy (and his wife, Shayna) of Eastview, TN; five grandchildren, Brayden Roy, Reece Roy, Riley Roy, Kitana Roy, and Briley Woolbright; the mother of his children and lifelong friend, Cathy Roy of Selmer, TN; his brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Roy was preceded in death by his youngest son, Dylan Roy, and his sister, Susan Morris.
