WILLIAM “BUTCH” DILLARD

William “Butch” Dillard passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024 at LSU Hospital following a car accident. He was born July 28, 1940 in Shreveport, LA. He graduated from Byrd high school in 1957, went on to Shreveport Trade School for a course in auto mechanics so he could work on his ’57 chevy. He then went to the Confederate Memorial School of Radiological Technology and worked as an x-ray technician at Schumpert Hospital for several years. While there he met and later married Synda Huckabay in 1967. He went back to school at LA Tech and graduated in 1968 with a degree in accounting, then went on to become a CPA. He went to work at Ark-La-Gas Company in the tax accounting department for 20 years and retired in 1991. Butch was a public notary, member of AICPA, LACPA, Bossier Masonic Lodge, El Karubah Shrine (Genies unit). He served as Treasurer of the Bossier City Jaycee’s. He was Scout Master of Troop 105 in Bossier City. Butch was a 25-year member of Frierson Baptist Church. Preceding him in death are his mother, Annie Lee Dillard, his father, Roy B Dillard, sisters Francis Hanna and Rose Day, a brother, Roy Dillard and a favorite aunt, Betty Holder. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Synda, his son Jeffrey, daughter in law Robin, granddaughter Allison and many nieces and nephews. A memorial will be held at Frierson Baptist Church at 299 East Street on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
