A funeral service honoring the life of Mrs. Patricia Faye Richey Cooper, 75, was held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana. Interment followed at Pelican Cemetery in Pelican, Louisiana. Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Officiating the service were Reverend Jonathan McManus and Reverend Ricky Wead.

Patricia was born to Marion Abram Richey and Velmer Morse Richey on August 17th, 1946, in Pelican, Louisiana, and entered into eternal rest on January 2nd, 2022, in Mansfield, Louisiana.

Patricia was a resident of Pelican, Louisiana, and held many different jobs throughout her career. She was a Godly woman who spent many years working for the church and showed nothing but love in every aspect of her life. She was best known for maintaining a full household, and everyone knew that Mawmaw Cooper’s pantry was always filled to the brim with snacks for her grandkids. Patricia could often be found cooking something delicious, spoiling her grandchildren, and spending time with her family, whom she loved infinitely. She was truly a special soul and will be dearly missed.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Abram Richey and Velmer Morse Richey; husband, Charlie Henry Cooper, Jr.; sisters, Verna Gable, Ruby Burns, Maggie Barnes, Mallie Litton, Carrie Laffitte and Doris Richey; brothers, Charlie Richey, and infant Vernard Richey; and her grandchild, Steven Anthony Blankenship. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Barbara Wedgeworth and Saralene Touchton; daughter, Lisa Lindsey, and husband, Jeremy; sons, Billy Joe Blankenship and wife, Shelia, Andy Blankenship and wife, Sharon, and Tim Cooper and wife, Jolene; grandchildren, Crystal Ory, Patrick Blankenship, Kenneth Blankenship, Cassie Santiago, A.J. Blankenship, Justin Cooper, Cody Blankenship, Franklin Burns, Jeremy Scott Lindsey, Bre’Anna Lindsey, Olivia Blankenship, and Caiden Burns; greatgrandchildren, Jewell, Landon, Keaton, Amy, Mikey, Grayson, Gage, Dani, Cooper, Abrheyna, Arhyanna, Jaxon; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.

Honoring Patricia as pallbearers were Henry Touchton, Arthur Touchton, Mico Santiago, Jeremy Phillips, Franklin Burns, Caiden Burns, Jeremy Scott Lindsey, and Allen Touchton. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Brad Hinds, Bobby Veuleman, Arhyanna Santiago, and her beloved grandsons, great-grandsons, and nephews.
