Janet Renee Chreene, age 54, passed away in Shreveport on January 2, 2022 after a brief illness. She was born on July 9, 1967 in Shreveport to Harold L. Gay and Margaret Evelyn Gay. Services were held on Thursday, January 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Centuries Memorial with Rev. Tommy McMellon officiating. Visitation was held on January 5 from 4:00 t0 5:00 p.m. for the family, with public visitation held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., also at Centuries Memorial. She was buried on Thursday, January 6 at the Chreene Cemetery in Stanley, LA.

Renee was known for having a big heart and always loved having her family close. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and Nana to her grandkids. She was employed by the Sabine Parish Police Jury for 15 years as the office manager along with her husband, Pete. When Renee began attending the Word of God Ministries in Shreveport, she fell in love with the church and its people the moment she stepped through its doors. Her heart was with the Lord! She was a very hardworking woman and a wonderful homemaker, but she also enjoyed the things of nature such as hunting and fishing in addition to vacationing to the mountains with her husband in their travel trailer. She was blessed with a green thumb and one of her favorite past times was nurturing and tending to her numerous plants. Renee was also wellknown for her love of cooking, especially for large groups, and could easily prepare meals to feed an army.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Margie Gay, sister Glenda Sue Gay, niece Sherrie Spraggins, and nephews Michael Huff, Jr. and Tommy Gay, Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Pete Chreene, Sr. and children Pete Chreene, Jr., Jaye Chreene and wife Bobbie, Jennifer Chreene, Heather Gamble and husband William, Nick Chreene and wife Jennie. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren Skylar McKenzie Chreene, Hilary Vanessa Chreene, Candace Paige Chreene, Bailey Grace Chreene, Justin Riley Paddie, Makaylah Renee Paddie, Hannah Elizabeth Paddie, Jakob Colten Paddie, Chloe LeeAnn Gamble, Alexis Danielle Gamble, and Noah Jacob Chreene; brother Tommy Gay, Sr., sisters Patsy Haltom, Sue Ball, Becky Huff, and Kathy Bonsall; plus numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews that all adored her.

Serving as pallbearers were Pete Chreene, Jr., Jaye Chreene, Nick Chreene, David Harris, Josh Harris, and Brandon Harris. Honorary pallbearers included Daniel Sepulvado, Austin Ball, Brenden Lester, Justin Paddie, and Ken Bell.
