ALLEN “JOE” JOHNSON

Allen Johnson was born on May 22, 1925 and passed away on August 23, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Duffy A. Johnson and Connie Horn Johnson; first wife, Tommie Clarke Johnson; sisters, Vadere Shahan and Era Johnson; and brother, Herman Johnson.

He is survived by from his first union, daughters, Anise and Margaret; son, Cary; grandchildren, Troy and Chris (Heather); and great grandchild, Madison. He is also survived by from his second union, wife, Wanda Johnson; children, BJ and John (Wendy); grandchildren, Bradley (Randi), Amanda (Keeth), Sara, Jim Anna (George), and Jonathan; along with six great grandchildren.

Allen was affectionately known as “Pop” to his family. Pop loved sitting on his porch enjoying the peacefulness of, and fishing, the Sabine River. After his retirement from Texaco, he and Wanda traveled most of the United States, Canada, and especially loved Alaska. He enjoyed telling jokes to his grandchildren. Joe served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Army Airborne division during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post 157 where he served as a commander, and other offices. Pop will be thoroughly missed by all his family and friends.
