MICHAEL CAESAR “MIKE” NEIL 10/09/51 – 8/19/21 & MARY CATHERINE “CATHY” PERMENTER NEIL 9/07/60 – 8/29/21

A private family memorial was held on September 8, 2021 at Grand Cane Baptist Church for Michael Caesar (Mike) and Mary Catherine (Cathy) Neil.

Michael Caesar Neil, 69, and Mary Catherine Neil, 60, of Grand Cane, Louisiana, have both gone to be with the Lord. Mike on August 19th, 2021 and Cathy on August 29th, 2021.

Mike was born on October 9, 1951, in Shreveport, Louisiana. To know Mike was to know his love for the Lord, and his family and friends. He worked in the oilfield industry for 50 years, ending his career as a barge captain. His offshore family was always very important to him. His hobbies, were where he spent enjoyable moments with horses, working cows, or bailing hay. He was a true definition of being a cowboy.

Cathy was born on September 7, 1960, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Cathy’s love of life was all wrapped up in her family. Her sense of humor was one to be coveted. You could not be around her without laughing. Her smile was contagious. Her main concerns were to make sure everyone around her was taken care of and happy. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt and a loving friend.

But their greatest roles were being Pawpaw and Granny to Trace Carter, Conner and Reid Anthony. Those three boys were the biggest part of the world they shared together.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Lucile Neil and his sister Judy Alexander.

Cathy was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Mike Neil, and her parents Bud and Carolyn Permenter.

Left to cherish their memories and their daughters Brittani Lynn Neil; Lacey Neil Anthony and husband Thomas of Grand Cane, LA; Mike’s sister Janice William-Gill of Mountain View, AR; Cathy’s brother Dave Permenter and wife Tammy; sisters Vicky Yeglic and husband Lenny, Chris Plymale and husband Steve along with a host of loved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
