The Board of Directors of the S.M. McNaughton Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame, Leo Sanford, Bob Aillet, Toni Goodin, Curt Joiner, Tag Rome, Bill McConathy and Jerry Byrd Jr. would like to announce our upcoming annual scholar athlete banquet will be held on Thursday March 7, 2019 at East Ridge Country Club. Tickets are $40 and a table of eight is $320.

North Desoto Wrestling Academy (NDWA) competed in the 2019 Middle School State Championships held in New Orleans last weekend. Placing 6 kids in the finals we came back Desoto Parish with 4 Individual State Champions and a team title. Champions are Collin Bell, Daniel Olivier, Hunter Addison and Christian Otzenburger. Second winners are place Isaac Dees Jacob Freeman 3rd place Lake Bates Jacob Cristler

Brother Martin (New Orleans) has had a good grip on the title for quite some time. Not anymore. The Griffins didn’t just beat them but a better term would be “dominated them”. With a total of 213.5 team points the second place team Brother Martin was at 160.0.

Congrats Lady Griffins!

With the motto, “One Team, One Goal…Victory!” the North DeSoto Lady Griffins won District in Division III at the end of January for the 2018-19 season. Their overall record thus far in the season includes 13 wins, 6 losses and 3 ties. A game was scheduled as The Enterprise went to press on January 28 against Southwood High School in Shreveport, which is also their Senior Night. They have one more game in their regular season schedule before moving on to the playoff rounds. They report a 5-0 win ratio, with zero goals scored against them during District games.

The Lady Griffins are a close knit group, with the eight sophomore team members playing together since they were in the 8th grade. In whole, all but one Senior and two Freshmen played together in middle school.
