James Underwood Burford, Sr.

Burford, Sr., 94, were held at Trinity Cemetery in Gloster, LA on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Billy Spalding officiating. A celebration of his life followed at his home. Visitation was on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA. James was born on November 4, 1919 and went to heaven on November 8, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice; parents, Harris and Sallie; three sisters and four brothers. He is survived by his sons; Jimmy Burford, Harvey Burford and wife Janice, Richie Burford and wife Sandy; hisdaughter Sally Owen and husband Marshall; manygrandchildren, greatgrandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren. His grandsonswere pallbearers.He was born in Gloster, LAand knew at age 11 he wanted tobe a farmer. After all, he wouldsay, “cows make you money while you sleep”. As a teenager he watched the antebellum home “Welcome Hall” burn and knew that was the land he wanted to own.

Raymond Lee peacock, Jr, passed away on October 24, 2013 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Raymond was born July 16, 1954, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Raymond Lee Peacock, Sr. and Gay Doan Peacock. He spent most of his career in Retail Sales. Raymond, 48, was preceded in death by his mother; Gay Doan Peacock sister; Stacy Gay Peacock Brother-In-Law; Ricky McCurley and Paternal Grandparents; Hershal L. Peacock, Ned and Louise Bickham. Visitation was from 1:00-2:00 PM Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield. The Funeral Service was also at Rose-Neath Chapel at 2:00 PM, Monday. Internment followed at Highland Cemetery in Mansfield, Louisiana Honoring his life as pallbearers were Chris Bell, Jeffrey Bell, Timothy Looney, Taylor Looney, Greg Sparks, and Joe Craig Fleniken.

Services for Jackie W. Goldsby, 62, was held Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Rose-Neath Mansfield Chapel with Brother Ricky Smith officiating. Burial followed in the Allen Cemetery, Mansfield, LA. The family received friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 16 from 5:00 until 9:00 PM. Mr. Goldsby was born May 9, 1951 in Mansfield, and passed away October 14, 2013. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mansfield, LA. Mr. Goldsby was preceded in death by his parents; Eugene Thomas and Lexie Slanton Goldsby; and one brother; Donald Lynn Goldsby. Family left behind to celebrate Mr. Goldsby’s life are his wife of 44 years Kathy Goldsby; son Thomas Dwayne Goldsby; daughters Lisa Busby and husband Mark, and Shannon Estes; sister Robbie Goldsby Dillard; grandchildren Tabatha Goldsby, Mark Busby, Jr., Kade Busby, Josh Estes, and Lauren Custis; and great-grandchildren Spencer Goldsby, Ian Goldsby, McKayla Goldsby, and Layla Goldsby.
